Fremington Quay

The Fremington Quay Management Committee of the Parish Council is responsible for all matters relating to Fremington Quay.  The Parish Council has a long lease of the land from North Devon District Council.

Fremington Quay was restored in 2000. The Quay, with its associated lime kilns, was an historic port at the heart of the clay export trade. It was served by a railway line, now the Tarka Trail, and the buildings housing the Visitor Centre and café at Fremington Quay recreate the old railway station, using modern techniques and traditional materials. It is a wonderful place to enjoy far reaching views over the estuary and to see an enormous variety of birds and wildlife.

Boatmen's Amenity Area Car Park

Unfortunately the Parish Council is experiencing misuse of this car park which is provided for Fishermen and those with boats at the Quay to be able to park when undertaking their activities. The padlock on the area has been damaged several times for what we can only assume is to gain unauthorised access to the area. The area is intended to provide a car park only. Please think of residents and other users of the area before misusing this area. The Police are aware of the situation and will be speaking to those involved.
